Jacques Derrida, Tro og viden. Translated by Kristian Olesen Toft and Bjarke Mørkøre Stigel Hansen. Aarhus: Forlaget Klim 2024.
Abstract: This is the first Danish translation of Jacques Derrida’s important essay on “Faith and Knowledge,” which is an important document in both interreligious dialogues and encounters between scientific-secular and religious discourses. Derrida’s essay allows us to reconsider these discourses and hence to facilitate a dialogue between hitherto irreconcilable-conflictual discourses of religion and science.
Ute Guzzoni, Intet. Filosofiske skitser. Translated by Bjarke Mørkøre Stigel Hansen. Copenhagen: Forlaget Møllegades Boghandel 2024.
Abstract: This is the firstever Danish translation of the German philosopher Ute Guzzoni. A key feature of Guzzoni’s book is the between I and you, between I and nature. She argues that it is only in the in-between that we are able to relate to each other. Departing from the claim given by Richard Sennett, namely that an independent voice only exists in relation to another independent voice, Guzzoni argues that the voice exists only insofar as it is transferred through space to the other’s second-person perspective. For Guzzoni this implies a philosophical anthropology, according to which the human being is a relation being that speaks and addresses the other.
