Claus Bossen Shares Insights on Data Work in Public Administration

Health and Care (Sundhed og Omorg) in Ringkøbing-Skjern Municipality organized an exciting presentation on data work and data journeys on January 10th. Claus Bossen delivered the presentation.

The presentation, titled "Raw Data is an Oxymoron and a Bad Idea: On Data Work and Data Journeys", delved into the increasing digitization of public administration and the proliferation of digital media, resulting in an overwhelming amount of data. There was a renewed interest in how organizations could become more data-driven or soberly data-informed.

During the presentation, Claus Bossen argued that the idea of raw data was contradictory and an unfortunate approach to data. He emphasized that data was not simply something that existed in raw form, to be collected and used without further processing. Instead, he demonstrated how data was created, shaped, and interpreted in its journey through different systems and for different purposes.

The presentation shed light on the complex nature of data work and data journeys in the public sector, providing participants with valuable insights into how data is managed and the demanding work behind it.
