Unveiling the Role of Medical Secretaries in Shaping Denmark's Healthcare Landscape

From Tuesday, September 26th to Wednesday, September 27th, HK SAL will host the Development Days for Medical Secretaries and Health Administrators, catering to members of HK Kommunal and HK Privat. This event will welcome 150 participants, comprising medical secretaries and health administrative personnel employed in private medical practices, private hospitals, and public healthcare facilities.

On Tuesday, September 26th, the audience will be treated to an enlightening presentation by Casper Knudsen and Pernille S. Bertelsen. The duo will delve into the profound digital transformation witnessed in Denmark's healthcare system over the past 20+ years. Despite Denmark's standing as one of the most digitally advanced healthcare systems in Western Europe, the presenters will emphasize a critical point often overlooked in discussions surrounding data-driven healthcare: data is not simply extracted from the ground.

Bertelsen and Knudsen will embark on an exploration of the historical and technological journey undertaken by medical secretaries, elucidating how their data-related tasks today play a pivotal role in supporting the current and future data-driven healthcare landscape. Their presentation will provide invaluable insights into the evolving role of medical secretaries and the integral part they play in Denmark's healthcare narrative.
