Exploring the Evolution of Health Information Management in Australia with Dr. Kerin Robinson and discussing data work in healthcare

On Thursday, June 9, 2022, we conducted an online seminar with Dr. Kerin Robinson, Adjunct Associate Professor in public health at La Trobe University. The focus of the seminar was Dr. Robinson's latest paper titled "The Historiography of a Profession: The Societal and Political Drivers of the Health Information Management Profession in Australia."

Dr. Robinson, an expert in Australian healthcare systems and health information management, shed light on the intricate societal and political influences that have shaped the development of the health information management profession within Australia.

We engaged in lively discussions, exploring the implications of Dr. Robinson's research findings, and shared our preliminary findings from ongoing research projects. The seminar provided a platform for collaborative exchange and a deeper understanding of the multifaceted dynamics at play in the field of health information management and data work.

Dr. Robinson's distinguished career includes serving as the Editor-in-Chief of the Health Information Management Journal and contributing to our advisory board in the 'Making Data Work Visible' research project.
