Claus Bossen attended the Danish conference E-Sundhedsobservatoriet 2023 to present a recent study, conducted in collaboration with Pernille Bertelsen. Their presentation was titled: "Who were the Data Professionals? Education, Skills, and Knowledge in Data Work in the Regions."

The presentation raised a series of essential questions: Who works with data in the regions, and how do they contribute to ensuring data completeness and validation? In a time of increasing digitization and a focus on data in healthcare, there is a need to understand who these data professionals are. What are their educational backgrounds? What skills do they possess? Do they identify themselves as 'data scientists' or 'data analysts,' or do they have other designations for their work identity and role?

The presentation departed from an extensive and ongoing study with surveys and interviews in all five Danish regions. The study sheds light on the role of data professionals and their significance in achieving the goals of making the healthcare sector more data-driven and information-based.
