CRIES at the 2nd Conference of the ICTMD Nordic-Baltic Network
On the 26th to 29th of May, The CRIES Project was represented at the 2nd Conference of the ICTMD Nordic-Baltic Network in Riga, Latvia.



It was an honor and a pleasure to take part in the 2nd Conference of the ICTMD NORDIC-BALTIC NETWORK Cultural Self-Determination: Construction and Representation of Music and Dance Practices in Public Domain Performances, 26-29 May 2025, Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, Riga, Latvia.
The CRIES project presented two papers there:
Austė Nakienė presented: The Repetitions of History: Communal Singing during the Symbolical Events in Lithuania.
Rimantas Sliužinskas and Halyna Pshenichkina shared their insights Ukrainian Folklore Abroad in the Context of War Crisis and Forced Emigration.
Through The CRIES Project, we are proud to be taking steps toward a transnational conversation about singing cultures, their histories, tensions, and possibilities across Baltic and Scandinavian spaces.
