To fulfil our vision, BERTHA partners, researchers and collaborations will pursue a four-pronged mission:
THE MISSION OF BERTHA IS
- to assemble, link and analyse Big Data from diverse data sources to make substantive progress in the understanding of spatial life course environmental influences on cancer, cardio-respiratory diseases, diabetes, neurological diseases, allergy, mental health and wellbeing
- to develop and extend algorithms and tools to spatially mine the data sources needed
- to raise the capacity among health and environmental researchers to understand and benefit from the Big Data revolution by establishment of a comprehensive training program for PhD students, Post Docs and senior scientists
- to establish strong national and international research collaborations and partnerships focused on the interaction between spatial life course environmental and social influences and human health.
