A large number of drug candidates fail due to adverse effects on the cardiovascular system. Measuring the impact of small molecules and peptides in isolated resistance arteries and infusion in small rodents provide valuable preclinical safety information. A plethora of methods can be employed as a follow-up to analyze the mechanisms involved. The research group aims to develop novel pharmacological approaches to improve endothelial function in cardiovascular disease.
