Due to the resurgence of COVID-19, the matchmaking process will take place online. Both companies and AU researchers can post ideas online and comment on each other's ideas.
The ODIN secretariat will host virtual pitch sessions, where companies pitch their research needs and ideas (December 2020) and AU researchers their submitted ideas (January-February 2021).
The scientific facilitator will be happy to assist in the matchmaking between participants.
In the second call round, we will not have a strict deadline for submitting ideas. It is still important that all applications received for review are based on openly shared ideas.
Thus, we recommend that ideas are posted before 1 March 2021 to provide enough time for the online matchmaking process, but this is not a requirement.
All parties should (in some way) contribute to the writing of the application. It is important that the applicants use the templates found on our matchmaking platform.
Applications for ODIN's second call round must be submitted no later than 12 May 2021.
ODIN's Project Review Committee decides which applications to fully review based on the 1-page abstract. The selected full-length applications are then reviewed by both the PRC and an international Peer Review Panel.
Based on qualitative discussions and a scoring scheme, the PRC nominates applications for funding to the Steering Group.
The Steering Group reviews the nominated projects and decides which applicants should be offered a grant (and under which conditions).
As soon as the projects have been selected, the ODIN secretariat sends out decision letters.
