In the second call round in ODIN, there was more time for matchmaking. Therefore, the ODIN secretariat hosted virtual pitch sessions, and offerede hand-held facilitation between network members from both academia and industry.

The two flowcharts below illustrates how ODIN facilitated the matchmaking process for ideas that originated from either academia (left) or industry (right):

First, academic researchers showcased their specific competences on ODIN's matchmaking platform and industry participants identified, which challenges they would like to source input for.

Subesquently, both academic and industrial network members pitched their idea and challenges. Eight companies pitched their research needs in December 2020. Following this event, we hosted 19 different researcher pitches in February 2021.

Based on the pitches, specific ideas were submitted to the matchmaking platform for all network members to see.

Lastly, the ideas were further developed before they were submitted for review.
