On 26 May 2026, Network for AI in the Natural Sciences (NAIS) officially launched with a successful Kickoff Event at INCUBA, bringing together researchers, staff, and students from across disciplines to explore and discuss the opportunities and challenges of AI in their work.
The day was kicked off with welcome remarks from Poul Nissen, Vice-Dean of Research at NAT, and the NAIS steering group members Juraj Bergman (BIRC) and Ira Assent (CS).
In addition to the keynote talks, participants had the opportunity to take part in networking activities, parallel focus-group discussions, and a panel session reflecting on lessons learned and future directions for AI collaboration. The event ended with a reception, providing further opportunities for dialogue and connection.
The strong turnout and engaging discussions highlighted the growing interest in interdisciplinary AI research and collaboration, setting a promising foundation for NAIS going forward.
