Policy makers

A main part of the exploitation of research results includes the provision of evidence-based policy recommendations that support the role of soil management in addressing climate change mitigation and adaptation. In other words, results with policy relevance are captured and directed at policymakers.

EJP Ambassadors act as the intermediary between the EJP SOIL and the European and international policymakers. This includes participation in meetings, workshops and forums to report on the EJP SOIL’s progress and potential impacts for policy.

Furthermore, policy forums are to be held annually to bring together the key individuals to discuss and identify data gaps and priority needs for new knowledge.

A “Resources, Infrastructure and Capabilities Inventory (RICI)" will catalogue the capacities and expertise existing across the institutes in the EJP SOIL consortium. This inventory will be made available to policymakers through an online platform, providing them with the necessary details and contact points when specific expertise is required in the policy cycle.
