Scandinavian Network for Elite Sport

The aim of the network between Section of Sport Science, Aarhus University, Department of Food and Nutrition, and Sport Science, University of Gothenburg, Norwegian School of Sport Sciences and Faculty of Sport and Health Science, University of Jyväskylä is to develop collaboration, knowledge exchange and research in the area of elite sport within Scandinavia. 

Graduate students at the institutions can apply for exchange studies at the partner institutions in Aarhus, Gothenburg, Oslo and Jyväskylä. Through an exchange study, students gain access to a broad range of courses to complement their study programs and to achieve a better overall training in sport science. 

Researchers in the partner institutions collaborate in Master-projects, PhD-projects, Research projects and networking. The network has selected five areas of research, where the partner institutions has specific knowledge: Talent development and Youth sport, Training and nutrition, Strength training and Match Analysis.

The network disseminates knowledge and collaborate with elite sport institutions, sport federations, clubs, coaches, high performance managers and athletes across Scandinavia, both in annual thematic symposia, publications, media releases and online documentation.

Scandinavian Sports Nutrition Seminar 2018

Scandinavian Network for Elite Sport hosted the seminar "Sport Nutrition" with presentations and discussions on the topic. The seminar was held 22nd of November 2018 at Aarhus University (Denmark), and the program and the presentations can be found here.    

SVEBI Conference 2018

The Swedish Behavioral and Social Science Sport Research 2018 Conference (SVEBI) will take place on 21st and 22nd of November 2018 in Falun, Sweden. The theme for the conference is ”Trends and issues that are changing sport and physical education: Social scientific perspectives”. The conference consists of a special session on ”Youth Elite Sport” with presentations from researchers from the SNE research group. Further information on the website:

Seminar - Post Olympic Winter Games 2018

Scandinavian Network for Elite Sport hosted the seminar "Post OWG 2018" with presentations and discussions on the preparations, performances and experiences from OWG 2018. The seminar was held Thursday 28th and Friday 29th of June 2018 in Vuokatti (Finland), and the programme and the presentations can be found here.
