Work in discussion groups (WG) Development of a clear structure for further work based on the results from the working groups, previous discussions and the five core questions from the project proposal. Definition of tasks and contents of the work in the network until next meeting in Kiel May 3.-4. 2019 in relation to the core questions from the project proposal:   How are European and national identities, among them German from within and from without, constructed through language? Which stereotypical attributes, which narratives and which linguistic patterns are evident? How do different constructions of the European, German and respective national identities relate to each other, compete and interact? Which results may different linguistic and discourse analytical methods yield when analyzing textual manifestations of identities from a cross-cultural perspective? How may factors such as the perception of the size and power of a nation or historical relations influence the discursive construction of identities from different group perspectives?

Arbeit in Diskussionsgruppen (AG) Entwicklung einer klaren Grundlage für die weitere Arbeit, ausgehend von den Ergebnissen aus den Arbeitsgruppe, den bisherigen Diskussionen und den fünf grundlegenden Fragen aus dem Projektantrag. Festlegung der Aufgaben, Inhalte und Ziele der Arbeit bis zum nächsten Treffen in Kiel 3.-4. Mai 2019 mit Bezug auf die zentralen Fragen aus dem Projektantrag: Wie werden europäische und nationale Identitäten, insbesondere die deutsche Identität aus einer Eigen- und Außenperspektive, durch Sprache konstruiert? Welche stereotypischen Attribute, welche Narrative und welche sprachlichen Muster sind relevant? Wie verhalten sich unterschiedliche Kon-struktionen der europäischen, der deutschen und der jeweiligen nationalen Identität zueinander und wie interagieren und konkurrieren sie miteinander? Welche Ergebnisse können unterschiedliche linguistische und diskursanalytische Methoden bei der Analyse der Manifestationen von Identitäten in Texten aus einer interkulturellen Perspektive ergeben? Wie beeinflussen Faktoren wie die Wahrnehmung von Größe und Macht einer Nation oder historische Beziehungen die diskursive Konstruktion von Identitäten aus den Perspektiven verschiedener Gruppen?
